About

Shefzilla a.k.a. Stewart Woodman

Stewart Woodman has been cooking for well over twenty years, he began as a fry cook at McDonald’s in his native Montreal, and worked his way up the food chain all the way to sous chef positions at Le Bernardin, Jean Georges, and Alain Ducasse at the Essex house. He has been the opening chef of three Minneapolis restaurants, Levain, Five, and Heidi’s Minneapolis where you will find him at the stove these days. His work has been reviewed in New York, North Carolina, and Minnesota.  In 2006 he was honored as a Best New Chef (one of a little over two hundred in the past twenty years) by Food & Wine magazine. Father of two, husband of one, he has enjoyed writing on the side for many years; this is his first foray into the world of the blog.

Geoff Roether

Geoff Roether has been working in hospitality for over 20 years.  He attended Michigan State University, known for its world class Hotel / Restaurant Management program, which he felt wasn’t a legitimate field of study, and most certainly not a wise career path…and he holds up his resume as proof positive that he was correct.  After recently swearing off professional foodservice, he is rehabilitating as the Corporate Sales Manager for the Grand Hotel Minneapolis and lives with his wife, 2 children and 3 barbecues in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

Karen E.

Karen Einisman is a communications, public relations and marketing freelancer, specializing in non-profits. Currently working for Minneapolis-based Women’s Cancer Action, she raises awareness about the link between environmental toxins and cancer.  For nearly 8 years, Karen served as Communications Director at the American Heart Association.

Dee Wayne

Dee Wayne is a renaissance man.  Nosher, Commentator, Schiker, Visionary.  He was one of the first students in the country to be home schooled by a Beta Max machine.  He received his Doctorate in Culinary Arts from the Boise School of Cheese in 1986.  He has traveled extensively on Highways 394 and 169, looking for the best cuisine the Twin Cities has to offer. Dee Wayne currently has two businesses that are thriving, and three others that he rather not talk about.  When he is not blogging, he enjoys long walks on the beach, mime, and adding new items to his vintage ascot collection.
