mmmmmm……
Holy shit was that good.
Ate at Craftsman last night, had the charcuterie platter, not sure if there is a better deal in this town, 15 bucks for crazy, crazy good meat. The dude Mike Phillips has a gift with the viande.
Go Now.
They open later, but get there.

Good to see you & the fam at Craftsman last night, Shef! We’re lucky to have them as our neighborhood restaurant. You are spot on about the charcuterie platter. The love comes right through when he does his thing. Did you get a taste of the lamb sausage? There is so much going on there!
As they say at Hot Doug’s, “There are no finer words in the English language than ‘encased meats’, my friend”
Agreed wholeheartedly about the charcuterie. Chef Phillips does a great job with everything there, but the platter stands out above the rest.
whatta coincidence! just yesterday mr rib and i made our fork the fire reservations on open table for the craftsman.
I had an abysmal experience there back when they were serving lunch, and have been gun shy ever since. But I must have this plate, and everything on the menu otherwise has me ringing with curiositie, so I guess I’ll be back sooner than later.
I have never read a better description of Mike’s food than “Holy Shit that was good”. Pure poetry that captures the moment of first taste.
Mike made some brats for a party I attended last winter and they were unbeleiveable.
just like Mike the person, the charcuterie is low key and approachable, something that anyone would enjoy.
merla I might see you there again very soon, I gotta get me some more spaghetti!
