Poor girl wanted a college textbook for her 9th birthday. Then she pulls Bourdain’s pants down on national television. God bless america.

    whats wrong wiht you people?
Are we just going to sit idly by and allow a 10 year old deranged youngster to put these ridiculous ideas in the minds of the media starved public! sitting on a plane for 18 hours and then being expected to eat and have fun for a living is fucking brutal!!! trust me i know a thing or two about this…what sort of sick parents allowed this child to torment TB like this????

The kind of sick parents with a sense of humor! I like Bourdain but’s that’s some funny shit!

    you forgot to mention …

18hrs in business class sleeping. expected to eat and have fun upon arrival with everything already prepared for you. getting paid handsomely to do so.

spare me the tears. i’ve done 18hr flights in coach. got off, went to meetings, factory tours, followed by days of serious negotiations, technical problem solving. and i get a quarter of your salary for my troubles. but i like my job so i don’t complain about it. it’s a challenge. that’s why i do it.

i’ve done similar trips for adventure where nothing was prepared for me. probably more brutal than your trips considering you got to set up base camp at high altitude.

if you’re job is so brutal then quit. you yourself say how lucky you are. give us a break!

wow…..some people forget their sense of humor pill this morning? i was being sarcastic, in a very obvious way i thought…no one in TV with half a brain (and there are indeed some with less) for second thinks that we dont have great jobs with awesome perks and personally i thank whoever is in charge up there everyday for all the blessings…i will say, speaking for the 4 people who have jobs like mine that i know best, we have all endured ridiculous brutal travel moments just like evryone else, and in some cases getting caught in wars, riots, floods, hurricanes etc..i would put some of my worst days up against anyones in a game of Machismo Chess…

    I don’t think a chili cook-off counts as a “war”.

Andrew, I knew you were being sarcastic, cause of all the exclamation points…

Confuscious say, “sarcasm in person rarely funny, sarcasm in print never funny”

Anyhoo, I’m getting paid to fly to Phoenix tomorrow and will be eating @ Pizzeria Bianco, among other local winners. No complaints here. Enjoy the snow and hotdish while I’m gone.
