Yep, you heard that right, some of the team at Heidi’s is headed to Stillwater to cook in a field. The farm-to-table event takes place on the 27th of June, a Monday, and I am already getting pretty excited.
It will take place at, “Axdahl’s Farm overlooking the St. Croix River in Stillwater is the perfect backdrop for this dinner as they’re not your average family farm. They grew their business from roadside stand into one of the (if not the) largest sustainable farms in the Minnesota with their produce found in grocery stores, restaurants, and distributed around the region.”
A few months ago when I was spouting off about some of the questionable environmental and safety claims of the farm-to -table folks, Scott called me up and asked if I would like to see what it was all about from his perspective.
Frankly, this deal looks like a heck of a lot of fun, and it should be a pretty creative exercise as well. No electricity, and only fire to cook with, the slow-fire challenge is on!
